The Supreme Court had on the 20th of March 1987 delivered judgment in an appeal which involved the parties to this application.
The claims earlier sought by the applicants as plaintiffs in the High Court were dismissed by the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court however granted two other reliefs sought.
On the 23rd of March 1987 the applicants inter-alia filed a motion in which they prayed that the judgment be amended by a fresh order granting the first relief asking the court to use its inherent jurisdiction under S.6(6)(a) of the 1979 constitution.
The Supreme Court heard argument only on the issue of jurisdiction follow¬ing the objection of the respondent's counsel in limine.
